What owners report

Our summary of recent owner reviews (we read the critical ones first). We don't test units ourselves.

Likes

  • Lowest stated draw with the engine off (0.10 mA)
  • Made in the USA, half the price of the Range module

Complaints

  • Does not turn off auto start/stop, which surprised several buyers
  • Some owners say it stopped working reliably after a few months
  • A few batteries went flat after a week parked, with warning lights after recharging

Who it's for

Best suited to owners of 2022.5–2026 Silverado/Sierra 1500 and 2021+ Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon or Escalade with the 5.3L or 6.2L.

Not for

  • Pre-refresh trucks (2007–2022.0): get a classic disabler instead
  • Heavy-duty 2500/3500 trucks: no AFM/DFM to disable
  • California-registered vehicles

Limits & caveats

  • It reduces how often cylinders switch off. No study shows it prevents lifter failure. What fails and why
  • The maker states 0.1 mA with the engine off; if the vehicle will sit a week or more, unplug it.
  • Expect 0 to 3 mpg less, mostly on the highway.
  • Unplug it before GM over-the-air or dealer software updates.
  • No CARB Executive Order: not legal on California-registered vehicles. OBD-based inspections elsewhere may also flag it.
