Short answer
A 2023 Silverado needs a Global B module, not a classic disabler. Get the Range RA007 if you also want auto start/stop off or live in California (CARB-exempt on 2021–2024 models). Get the BOOST DFM to pay less and draw the least current.
Why classic disablers don't work here
For the 2022 refresh, GM moved the Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500 to its "Global B" electronics, with encrypted control modules behind a secured gateway. The Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade made the same switch a year earlier, for 2021. The simple OBD commands that classic disablers rely on no longer get through, so makers built dedicated modules. For 2022 trucks, check the VIN: a 12th character of 5 or higher means refresh. How to tell.

Best overall: Range Technology RA007 DFM Module
Range lists every 2023–2026 Silverado/Sierra 1500, the 2022 refresh trucks and every 2021–2026 Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Escalade with the 5.3L or 6.2L. It turns off DFM and auto start/stop, and it is the only disabler we found with a CARB Executive Order (D-115-32, 2021–2024 models; 2025–2026 pending). It connects inline at the engine computer under the hood rather than at the OBD-II port.
Watch out: owners report check-engine lights on some trucks and a 2023 Escalade, several 2024–2025 owners say deactivation still happens, and Range itself notes the engine can still enter zero-cylinder mode when coasting. Remove it before GM over-the-air or dealer software updates.
Range Technology RA007 DFM Disabler
The reference module for 2022.5+ trucks and 2021+ SUVs: the only one with a CARB exemption (2021–2024 models), and it also turns off auto start/stop.

Best value and lowest draw: BOOST DFM (Global B)
About $80 less than the Range, made in the USA, and the lowest stated engine-off draw of any disabler we track: 0.10 mA. BOOST lists 2022.5–2026 Silverado/Sierra and 2021–2024 Tahoe, Suburban and Yukon with the L84 or L87, and says it cuts deactivation events by about 95% rather than 100%.
Watch out: it does not turn off auto start/stop, which surprised several buyers. It is not listed for 2025–2026 SUVs. A few owners report hit-and-miss operation after some months, and one Sierra's battery was flat after six days parked.
BOOST DFM Disabler (Global B)
The lower-cost Global B option with the smallest battery draw, if you can live with auto start/stop.

Newcomer with a switch: UltraEra DFM
Launched in July 2026 and already selling 200+ a month. The listing claims the same years as BOOST, an on/off switch, a sleep mode and start/stop shut-off. With only a dozen ratings, we treat its claims as unconfirmed.

The 2024–2026 question
Range says the RA007 covers every 2023–2026 truck. Yet owner reviews of all three modules include 2024 and 2025 trucks where deactivation still kicked in, and one owner of a fourth module (Carbyte) reports that on 2024+ GM vehicles it only stopped start/stop. Our advice: buy where returns are easy, test on your usual drive within the return window, and keep the receipt.
How we pick (no hands-on testing)
We list every Global B module selling 100+ a month on Amazon, check each against the maker's fitment list, and summarize recent owner reviews, critical ones first. We don't install or bench-test modules. Our method.
Why Carbyte isn't on this list
Carbyte (from OBDLink) is a known Global B option with an app and a 3-year warranty, but it showed no "bought in past month" badge on Oct 27, 2026, so it is below our 100-a-month threshold. Owners also note it only fully disables DFM after a first run above 40 mph.
What changed this month
- Oct 27, 2026: first edition. Confirmed on Range's site that the RA007 installs at the engine computer and holds CARB EO D-115-32.

Questions owners ask
Will a $40 AFM disabler work on my 2023 Silverado?
No. Classic disablers are built for the older electronics. 2022.5+ trucks and 2021+ SUVs use GM's Global B architecture with a secured gateway, and only dedicated modules are sold for them.
Is my 2022 Silverado a refresh?
Look at the 12th character of the VIN: 5 or higher means refresh (Global B), 4 or lower means the 2022 Limited/LTD, which takes a classic disabler.
Is a DFM disabler legal in California?
The Range RA007 has a CARB Executive Order (D-115-32) for 2021–2024 models, which Range says makes it legal in all 50 states on those years when installed per its instructions; 2025–2026 is pending. We found no Executive Order for the BOOST DFM or UltraEra.
Does a DFM disabler help with the L87 6.2L recall?
No. Recall 25V-274 concerns crankshaft and connecting-rod bearings, not lifters or cylinder deactivation.
