How we make money

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. That's our only income.

How much

Amazon pays a percentage of the sale, currently 4.5% in the automotive category: about $1.80 on a $40 disabler and about $10 on a $230 one. You pay the same price.

What it doesn't change

• We list every plug-in disabler selling at least 100 units a month on Amazon, whatever its price or brand.
• A cheaper product pays us less, and we still recommend it when it's the right fit.
• When a disabler doesn't work on your vehicle, we say so, even if it is a best seller.

What we never do

• Accept payment, free products or "sponsored placements" from brands.
• Claim we tested a product we haven't. We analyze makers' data, GM documents and owner reports, and say so on every page.
• Copy Amazon reviews or show prices without the date we checked them.
